Teen with a Stoma
Teen with a Stoma is written for teenagers by teenagers. In this special book, teens with a stoma share their real stories and reflect on the issues that are important to them.
Three teenagers were interviewed and photographed for this booklet. In their own words they share with us their different stories — their thoughts, feelings, and reactions — and reveal what it was like to get a stoma at such a young age.
The booklet includes forewords written by two adults, who also experienced getting a stoma when they were teenagers, and describes how they have coped with living with a stoma into adulthood. There is also a 'Hints & Tips' section written especially for teenagers.
