Stoma surgery is a major operation and can affect your body image. When your surgery is over, one of your body functions will be different, and there will be a change in how your body looks and works. This booklet describes some of the changes you may experience to your body image following stoma surgery, as well as discusses some of the emotions you may have as a result of these changes. Aspects such as fear, anger, and other people's reactions to your having a stoma are also covered. This booklet is illustrated with testimonials from three women living with a stoma.
